For a current custody answer, call the Lincoln County Jail. For a document, ask the correct custodian for a Georgia Open Records response. A booking charge is an accusation, not a finding of guilt.
Lincoln County Jail and sheriff
The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office operates the county jail. The jail is the first local route for a person who may have been booked recently or who may still be held. The 2026 Georgia Sheriffs' Association directory distinguishes the lines below; the GDC jail directory separately confirms the facility.
Lincoln County Jail
145 School Street
Lincolnton, GA 30817
Jail and 24-hour line: (706) 359-7320
Warrant line: (706) 359-1860
Lincoln County Sheriff's Office
145 School Street
Mail: P.O. Box 970
Lincolnton, GA 30817
Office: (706) 760-7545
Fax: (706) 359-4985
County page hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Confirm which line handles a booking sheet, release entry, or booking photograph before sending a request. The county has not published a separate records-unit email, fixed photo fee, or local response promise.
Lincolnton Police Department
Lincolnton Police Department holds its own city arrest and incident records. The official city site does not publish a daily arrest log, jail roster, booking feed, mugshot page, separate records email, or separate records number. Ask the department how to deliver a written request to its designated custodian.
Lincolnton Police Department
148 Ward Avenue
Lincolnton, GA 30817
Office: (706) 359-7070
Emergency: 911
City arrestees who require detention ordinarily go to Lincoln County Jail. A citation-only case may never create a jail booking, and a transfer can move a person out of local custody. Request the police report and check the jail separately.
Courts and case outcomes
Use the Georgia Courts e-access directory for Lincoln Superior Court. It routes the county's Superior Court search to PeachCourt, which requires an account and may charge for document access. The clerk remains the right source for public-terminal help and certified disposition questions.
Clerk routes
Clerk of Superior Court: (706) 359-5505
Probate/Magistrate: (706) 359-5528
Lincolnton Municipal Court information is published by the city. The court page states that court is held on the third Thursday of each month at 2:00 p.m. at City Hall. That is a court schedule, not a booking or photo source.
State, federal, and ICE routes
A person sentenced into Georgia state corrections belongs in the Georgia Department of Corrections offender search, not a county booking lookup. GDC's records route is P.O. Box 1529, Forsyth, GA 31029. The Bureau of Prisons locator covers federal custody within its stated range and has no public photo field. ICE's Online Detainee Locator covers immigration detention and is not a criminal case or mugshot search.
Where each record belongs
Use the jail for local custody and booking records, the city police department for its arrest or incident report, the clerk for disposition, GDC for sentenced state custody, and the federal locator that matches the person's actual custody state. The absence of a jail call result does not prove that no city case exists.
For a written county request, start with the Sheriff’s Office address above and confirm the custodian with the office line. The Georgia Attorney General's open-records guide explains the state process, including a generally required production or written response within three business days. Ask for existing records, not a new compilation.
